Repo Man - What You Got In The Trunk?

In the midst of all this Charlie Sheen madness, poor Emilio Estevez still can't win. Internet jokes like THIS one, THIS one, or THIS one prove that no matter how insane or out of control Charlie becomes, Emilio will always live in his shadow. But there is one movie that shoots Emilio past his younger brother in the cult classic category, no...... not Judgment Night, I'm talking about the 1984 film Repo Man.

Call it what you want, a satire, a punk film, a black comedy, or an anti-society film. This film spoke to a whole generation during the Regan era and can still be relevant in today's society of war, capitalism, and television.

Totall Recall - Midget Hooker of Death

By now you've probably heard that the remake of Total Recall starring Colin Ferrell is set to shoot this May. Most fans are losing their minds, I mean how can they recreate the magic of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michael Ironside mixed with non-stop Sci-Fi action and extreme violence? You can't, but you sure can try.......

The new film will be based more closely to the Philip K. Dick story "We Can Remember it for You Wholesale." So it will be going in a different direction(although not much different), which is good. But one thing the new version will never have is Mary, the triple-breasted mutant prostitute and of course Thumbelina, the midget hooker of death.

In this scene, Richter(Michael Ironside) and his henchmen visit Venusville's most popular hangout The Last Resort to violently look for Quaid(Arnold Schwarzenegger). As a riot breaks out, Thumbelina grabs a giant knife and charges toward Helm(Michael Champion), Richter's geeky henchman. She stabs him in the gut, killing him then proceeds to get on top of the bar with a machine gun and kick ass. (This scene was created to secure the R-rating, in the original version she stabs the guy in the groin, then carves an incision all the way up to his chest, basically gutting him.)

Ricochet - Blake Get's the Point

Ahh the early 90's, such a great time for action movies. Total Recall, Terminator 2, Hard Boiled, Die Hard 2, Universal Soldier, Cliffhanger, Demolition Man, Under Siege, Speed, and many more. The heroes, the one-liners, and of course......the Movie Deaths. Some are etched into action movie history while others are forgotten, never to be heard of again. Ricochet is one of those films.....

The film stars Denzel Washington as Nicholas Styles, a Los Angeles attorney who puts a vicious killer, Earl Talbot Blake (John Lithgow) in prison when he was previously a cop. Blake has now escaped and is out for revenge.

The film is violent, over the top, and sometimes just downright hilarious(click HERE to watch all the hilarious one-liners)...Washington does a great job as usual, but John Lithgow steals the show here as he puts on a great performance as a ruthless psychotic killer. This film is an absolutely excellent popcorn action thriller that should not be forgotten.

In this clip, our hero and villain fight atop the Watts Towers. As Blake gets the upper hand, Styles' childhood friend Odessa (Ice-T) appears and connects electrical mains to the metal tower, electrifying Blake and sending him off the tower. Blake falls and lands on a protruding spike, impaling and killing him. Followed by another classic one-liner.

Tormented - Definitely Too Late

Tormented is the story of a fat unpopular student who was teased by all the cool kids in school. To escape the bullying he commits suicide and then comes back from the dead to exact revenge on the students who made his life hell. Real original eh? Who cares, people die in it right? Good enough for me...

In this scene, designated school bitch Tasha(April Pearson) is running away from the ghost(or zombie, I'm not really sure) of Mullet, the....ah geez 'Tormented' student who just castrated her boyfriend after having.....get this...safe sex. Kind of redundant now isn't it? Anyway, she falls into an open grave and in a desperate attempt to save her own ass confesses her love to him and says, "I would have gone out with you... maybe it's not too late?"........and queue the killer zombie ghost.

Tormented is like if Skins(UK version) and The Rage: Carrie 2 had a baby, then urinated on it. Not very good, but at least some of the death scenes were decent.

Tokyo Gore Police - Face Rip

Oh boy, where do I begin? First off, not all Japanese films are like this and not all Japanese people like these kind of movies. This is the same country that gave us Akira Kurosawa, Yasujiro Ozu, and Kenji Mizoguchi; Japanese directors who have created some of the most critically acclaimed films off all time. Just like in America, there are different subgenres of horror that deliberately focus on graphic portrayals of gore and violence. We here in the States call it a 'splatter' or 'gore film'. Not everyone's cup of tea(though this film is actually received well by critics), but it's right up Greatest Movie Death's alley and today we give praise to the Japanese Gore genre with a scene from Tokyo Gore Police.

The film is set in a futuristic and chaotic Japan where a virus that mutates humans into monstrous creatures called "Engineers" has been released. The virus causes bizarre weapons to sprout from any injury. Our heroine Ruka is helping the police force in order to find her father's killer. In this clip we see Riku take out a bad guy with her newly equipped claw-hand.


This clip is actually pretty tame compared to other classic scenes from the movie, like gator girl, Penis Cannon, amputee ninja, and many more to come...

Magadheera - A Long Way Down

Ok, I spoke too soon. Maybe declaring that Greatest Movie Deaths is back then not posting for two months was definitely NOT the right way to do things. But I just lost the will, with Google threatening to shut down the site if I didn't remove their precious ads because of the "mature content" and the constant removal of videos by Youtube for copyright infringement, it just wasn't worth it anymore. I lost the inspiration.....

.....That is until I saw our next Movie Death, my eyes lit up and the hairs on my testicles rose as if I found out my ex-girlfriend was hit by a bus. I was re-energized again, and I realized I never started this site for the money, sure the money DID help, but NO. It was for you people, my readers, all three of you...

So without further adieu, let's get to some movie deaths....

This is a scene from the Telugu film Magadheera, a historical drama about a warrior who protects the princess of his kingdom, only to be killed and reincarnated to get his revenge. In the climax of the film, as our protagonist is in danger of getting mowed down by the rotor blades of a helicopter, Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi arrives in a speeding jeep, drives it up a ramp while jumping out before it crashes into the helicopter in mid-air à la Die Hard 4. Our Villain, refusing to except defeat grabs the present day princess and prepares to jump off a cliff with her. Our hero saves the day when he throws a sword at the villain as he leaps, severing his arm and sending him plummeting to his death. All that's missing is a *splat*

Antichrist - Baby Suicide

Well it's a new year; my Fantasy Football season is over(thank you very much Ryan Grant) and I finally finished watching every episode of Battlestar Galactica(someday Caprica-Six will have my Cylon-Human hybrid child) so Greatest Movie Deaths is Frakking back.....

If there's one film to huddle around with the whole family and watch, it's Lars Von Trier's Antichrist. From genital mutilation to the onset of religious overtones, it has everything for the whole family....the Manson family. Yeah, don't watch this one with kids. I got two words for you...BLOOD CUM(or is that one word?). But what do I know about children? A woman is involved somewhere, I think. You know what? Do whatever you want superdad.

This movie death comes in the epic opening scene. Just as Willem Dafoe is getting his groove on with his wife, their young son climbs out of his crib and climbs onto a desk by an open window. Then for some reason he just commits suicide, maybe depression I don't know. No note, just a selfish act. But the best part comes just as the kid hits the ground in slow motion(set to Lascia ch'io pianga), the mother actually climaxes....good timing, mom of the year.

In movies about couples who lost children in tragic accidents, like 21 Grams or Reservation Road, it's easy to feel locked outside of the couple's suffering. But Antichrist goes way beyond exploring grief. It uses the accident as a catalyst for the chaos that follows and dares us willing to follow the drama down a very dark path.........My kind film, plus there's a ton nudity too, so.....

Santa's Slay - Christmas Movie Deaths

In the Christmas spirit, we celebrate a cinematic masterpiece that has changed the face of film forever. That's right, the 2005 film Santa's Slay. Where else can you watch Bill Goldberg dressed as Santa set Fran Drescher's head on fire and drown her in eggnog? huh? Please tell me where, because I will buy tickets my friend.
