High Tension - Death by Concrete Saw

After a chase through the woods Alexia (Maïwenn Le Besco) finds the road and successfully flags a car down. As Alex is climbing into the car Marie (Cécile De France) appears brandishing a concrete saw. As Marie begins tearing into the windshield of the car, the saw blade hits the driver and blood splatters everywhere, coating the inside of the car and Alex in the backseat.

The Fly 2 - Acid Loogie!

Some of the best death scenes have come from the lonely security guard who we have no attachment to. Take this scene from the Fly 2 for example, our victim gets a surprised from the fly when he hocks an acid loogie in his face. The guard screams in horror as he rips his own face off. Gore! Fuck yeah!

Dead Calm - Hughie eats a flare

After a long night of terror on the high seas, Rae (Nicole Kidman) goes for a swim. When she returns to the yacht Hughie (Billy Zane) suddenly appears and attempts to choke her out. John (Sam Neill) sees the struggle, drops his breakfast and fires a flare into Hughie's face.

Terror at the Opera - Peephole Headshot

In the most incredibly filmed scene from Terror at the Opera, Mira looking through a peephole, is greeted by a bullet gliding gracefully into her face. The shot is fantastic because the camera is slowed down to the extreme as you can see the bullet pass from the gun into the metal tunnel of the spy hole. Its not a special effects trick, it's a slow motion real time shot of a bullet being fired and looks fantastic.

When dad finds out his precious little girl is smoking a fatty with Bob, he grabs his head and proceeds to bore his dome with a massive drill; all done in the slow and agonizing way that Lucio Fulci does best.

The Running Man - Sub-Zero now plain zero

Professor "Subzero" (Tanaka) ice-skates and slashes his victims to pieces with a modified and razor-sharp hockey stick, but he's no match for Ben Richards (Schwarzenegger) who rips down a line of razor wire and wraps it around Sub-zero's neck. Richards pulls on the razor wire, strangling and slicing Sub-Zero to death.

Mission to Mars - Woody gets Depressurized

Our heroes have to abandon their vessel. Woody, played by Tim Robbins concludes the only hope of a successful rendezvous with the Resupply Module (REMO) is for him to launch himself directly at it using the remainder of his jet pack fuel, but after he attaches the line from the other astronauts at the REMO he is unable to stop himself and floats helplessly away toward the planet. His wife, Terri, wants to go after him, but Woody knows she'll die in the rescue attempt. So he takes off his own helmet and dies of depressurization rather than let her die for him.

but what does dying of Depressurization really mean? What really happened to Woody? Well, once Woody took his helmet off, the air rushed out of his lungs to equalize the pressure effectively causing suffocation. Then the extreme cold (-250F) froze his body solid. Booya! Woody is now a human Popsicle.

Letters from Iwo Jima - Death before Dishonor

Saigo overhears General Kuribayashi radioing orders to retreat northward. Kuribayashi's commanders disobey his orders to fall back and solidify the northern defenses so they and their men can die with honor. In the film's most horrifying scene, a group of soldiers commit suicide by grenade, one by one. They would rather die then fall in enemy hands. The men follow the Bushido code. Under this code, if a samurai warrior failed to uphold his honor he could regain it by performing seppuku (ritual suicide).

The Hudsucker Proxy - The Fall of Waring Hudsucker

The company founder and president of Hudsucker Industries, Waring Hudsucker (Charles Durning), commits suicide by jumping through a window on the forty-fourth floor during a board meeting.

Air Force One - "Get Off My Plane!"

Ivan Korshunov (Gary Oldman) takes the First Lady hostage as he attempts to escape the plane with the last of the parachutes. She creates a distraction and Marhsall dives at Ivan for a dramatic fight on the edge of the cargo bay doors. After some struggling the President manages to wrap a static line around Ivan's neck and pull his parachute chord. Harrison is able to give his coup-de-grace line: "Get off my plane!" before he sends Gary Oldman flying out the back of the plane, snapping his neck instantly on the static line. The money shot comes later when we see Ivan's body floating slowly down to earth.

Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance - Revenge on the Black Market

Park Chan-wook's newest film Thirst finds Korea's leading man, Song Kang-ho(pictured center), as a much-loved priest who turns into a vampire after a failed medical experiment and becomes a tortured and depraved soul. The title refers to a craving for sex, blood and love. As we all know Park is no stranger to the movie death, as you can see from this scene from Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance he's also not afraid to show a little blood (or a lot).

Let's get one thing straight, without the the 2002 film Infernal Affairs there would be no Departed in 2006. That being said, you have to watch The Departed as its own film and not just as a remake of Infernal Affairs.

Sleepy Hollow - Brom gets Axed

--There's only one thing to do when you see a headless guy with an axe......RUN!

No one listens to the smart people...Brom just had to be a hero. It just seems really stupid to try to kill some guy that's missing his head. I'm curious what Brom was thinking, or if he was thinking at all. Oh well Mr. Hero, the Horseman embeds his axe and sword into Brom's torso and pulls them apart, cutting him in two.
Ray Park does an outstanding job( as always) as the badass Headless Horseman. This guy never gets the credit he deserves!

Memorable sink scene from the remake version of The Blob. In this scene George Ruit (Clayton Landey) a diner kitchen worker attempts to unclog a sink drain. Sadly for him, the blob grabs him by the head and sucks him down the drain headfirst. I think "owned" just about covers it. *thanks to Jim for the suggestion

Guns and Talks - Slow-mo Sniper Headshot for the WIN

What the hell is more entertaining than a slow motion headshot? The answer is nothing, nothing is more entertaining than watching a bullet pierce through the air in all its skull-busting, instant-killing, brain splattering glory. From Johnny Tapia in Bad Boys 2 to Mr. X in Wanted, the slow-mo headshot will always be a visual treat.

Take this scene from the Korean film Guns and Talks for example. Jae-young (Jung Jae-yeong) takes out his target with a sniper shot. Boring! Am I right?! Now let's see that......in super slow-mo.

Sanchez orders Bond be placed on the conveyor belt of his cocaine-processing machine. Bond falls in but gets his rope snagged on the edge. Dario steps in with his knife and attempts to force 007 in but Bond grabs his boot and drags him into the grinder. He screams in agony as he falls in the shredder and is ground to bits.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail - The Rabbit of Caerbannog

King Arthur and his knights are led to the cave by Tim the Enchanter, and find that they must face down its guardian beast. Tim verbally paints a picture of a terrible monster, with "a vicious streak a mile wide!" and "nasty, big, pointy teeth!", so terrifying that Sir Robin soils his armour. When the guardian appears to be an innocuous white rabbit surrounded by the bones of the fallen, Arthur and his knights no longer take it seriously. Ignoring Tim's warnings, King Arthur orders Bors to chop its head off. Bors confidently approaches it, sword drawn, and is immediately decapitated by the rabbit to the sound of a can opener. Despite their initial shock and Tim's loud scoffing, the knights attack in force, but are driven to "run away!" as the rabbit leaps and attacks, killing Gawain and Ector.

Rocky IV - Death of Apollo Creed

It was as epic as it was heartbreaking, it was the death of Apollo Creed. To start Rocky IV, Apollo takes on the The Siberian Bull in an exhibition match. In the fight, Drago overpowers Creed with a barrage of punches. By the start of the second round Drago continued to pummel Creed with ease. Rocky contemplates whether to "throw in the towel" and surrender the fight (against Creed's earlier instructions), but instead he decides to hold onto the towel while his friend, limp and unable to defend himself, continues to absorb blows to the head until he is finally killed. Drago exhibits no remorse whatsoever about what he does to Creed, simply stating in an interview after the fight that "if he dies, he dies."

But that brings up the question, did Ivan Drago really kill Apollo Creed? or did Apollo Creed kill Apollo Creed, with assistance from Rocky Balboa and an incompetent referee?
