The death scene is a time honored tradition of the movies. Except this list isn't celebrating the art of dismembered limbs and exploding craniums. The following movie deaths are so iconic that they don't even have to be shown. Here are the top 3 off screen death scenes.
3. Thelma & Louise - The car drives over the edge of the canyon and film ends with a freeze frame of the car in mid-air. We never see girls crash into the rocks below, but we don't need to. Would've been epic though.
2. Fargo - Carl played by Steve Buscemi, is murdered by Gaear Grimsrud (Peter Stormare) with an axe, but the screen cuts to black right before the magic happens. It’s more Carl’s messy ‘burial’ involving a wood-chipper that is the trademark of this film more than his death.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid - Butch (Paul Newman) and Sundance (Robert Redford) both wounded and surrounded by 100 soldiers of the Bolivian cavalry, burst through the door to face an essential firing squad. The film ends with a freeze frame sepia tone shot of the pair exiting the house firing their guns, accompanied by the sound of dozens of rifles being fired. It’s not only one of the most compelling death scenes, but one of the most iconic moments in cinema history.

Spoiled celebrity cunt Kimberly(Kimberly Caldwell) is running late for her appearance on the newest reality TV show, "Apocalypse: Ultimate Survivalist". Well wouldn't you know it, she makes a wrong turn and while complaining to her agent on the phone, she accidentally hits someone. She goes to check on the pedestrian, unaware that he's a mutated cannibal........Oh snap! Let the fun begin
Three-Finger must be a pro at the whole killing thing because she gets sliced perfectly in half. Either that or the axes are extra sharp when it's direct-to-video.

The Shining - Dick Hollerann's Death
Dick Hallorann is enjoying some R&R in Miami when he receives Danny’s mental S.O.S. When Dick learns the phone lines are down, fearing the worst, Dick books himself the first flight to Boulder Colorado to save the day. The guy then rents a Snow Cat and drives miles through a freaking blizzard to get to the Overlook. Our hero enters the Hotel and walks slowly through the lobby calling out for Danny. Jack suddenly emerges from behind a pillar and swings an axe into Hallorann's chest. Welcome to wonderful world of Stanley Kubrick.

Sleepy Hollow - Brom gets Axed
--There's only one thing to do when you see a headless guy with an axe......RUN!
No one listens to the smart people...Brom just had to be a hero. It just seems really stupid to try to kill some guy that's missing his head. I'm curious what Brom was thinking, or if he was thinking at all. Oh well Mr. Hero, the Horseman embeds his axe and sword into Brom's torso and pulls them apart, cutting him in two.
Ray Park does an outstanding job( as always) as the badass Headless Horseman. This guy never gets the credit he deserves!

Commando - Tool Shed Scene
In this scene from Commando, Arnold goes on a rampage with some tool shed items. First he drops down from the ceiling and stabs a guy with a pitch fork. He then throws some saw blades at one guy's head taking off his scalp, and one into another guy's chest. He then grabs the axe and a machete. He uppercuts a guy in the yarbles with an axe and uses the machete to chop another guys arm off. If you haven't seen Commmando, then you've missed quite the body count.
