Jabba Desilijic Tiure, better known as Jabba the Hutt sentences Luke and Han to be fed to the monstrous Sarlacc. As he is about to be put to death, Luke breaks free, receives a new lightsaber from R2-D2, and a large battle erupts. During the distraction, Leia jumps over Jabba's tail, wraps her slave chain around the Hutt, and proceeds to strangle him to death.

It's just a shame Boba Fett can't be on this list too. If he'd died in a shootout with Han Solo, or something like that, it would have been a brilliant ending for a great character, instead of going out by accident, like a punk. Heck, even his dad had the decency to get beheaded by a Jedi.
(Yes, I know, the Expanded Universe has him escaping from the Sarlacc and going on all sorts of adventures and, I dunno, opening a frozen yogurt shop or something. The Expanded Universe also had a Hutt-built Death Star shaped like a lightsaber.)

Good choice. This is the one I would pick from Return of the Jedi.
Jabba's death truly was a masterpiece. Not only for the whole scene being epic with Luke revealing the new lightsaber he had built but the fact that Jabba got killed by Leia while wearing that awesome gold bikini. I've been trying to get my girlfriend to wear that for halloween for years.
