As Gollum rejoices at finally having reclaimed his precious, the now fingerless Frodo charges at him. After a brief struggle, Gollum falls over the edge and into the lava. As he's melting in the lava, the greedy little bastard is still trying to hold on to the ring.

This has to be the lamest death in your list. Come on, check out Maniac, Raimi (before he went idiot with Spiderman) or anything by Fulci or any other italian. There are some horrible stuff out there. Research via youtube. Good Luck.
