Hannibal - Brain Food

"That smells great" is what Ray Liotta says as Hannibal Lector puts a piece of his brain in a frying pan. The best scene in the Silence of the Lambs sequel was created using CGI and a green skull cap along with an animatronic robot for the close ups. The end result is a classic scene

Robocop - Toxic Waste Guy

There's one particular death in Robocop that stands out and that is the death of the toxic waste guy. In the climax of the movie our victim tries to terminate Robocop by running him over with a van. As Robocop dives out of the way of his puny attempt, he slams into a large container of toxic waste and comes out with his skin hanging off the bones, gasping in horror. He then walks out to the middle of the road and gets obliterated by Red Foreman in a 6000 SUX. Classic!

Executive Decision - Steven Seagal Dies!

No flying limbs, no gallons of blood, no gory special effects. No, what make this one of the greatest movie deaths of all time is the fact that Steven Seagal dies in it. You see, in just about every Steven Seagal movie, he comes out at the end unscathed. He'll get shot, cut, beat up and end up without a scratch. Which is why it makes this scene from Executive Decision even better. In fact, Steven Seagal originally refused to shoot his death scene for fear his fans would not like it. Director Stuart Baird insisted he must do it as scripted, though Seagal held up filming for a few days and suggested that the manner in which it happened wouldn't realistically cause him to die. Finally after threat of contractual breach, Seagal acted the death scene as scripted.

Total Recall - "See you at the Party Richter"

You thought one-liners occur only in Bond movies. Nope, the classic one-liner before or after killing the villain has been around forever. From the classic "make my day" to "yippee-ki-yay." Sometimes it can be cheesy, but when well executed it can become a movie classic. Schwarzenegger is a veteran at the one-liner, in this scene from Total Recall he eliminates the villain Richter and then has something to say about it. Leave a comment and tell us your favorite one-liner?

Equilibrium - Face Slice

An unknown movie called Equilibrium came out in 2002 that starred Christain Bale and Taye Diggs. The movie didn't do well in theaters, in fact it bombed. The movie went away so fast that some people didn't even know it existed. As years went by it was rediscovered and it has grown into a large cult following. The movie is set in a post-apocalyptic world war III and has some of the best action sequences since The Matrix. This clip is just a bread crumb of the giant cake of awesome this film is. If you have never seen this film do yourself a favor and watch it. No, in fact buy this movie immediately, you will not regret it. For those of you who have seen it, leave a comment and give us your thoughts.

Phantasm - The Brain Sucking Sphere

Phantasm was a low budget sci-fi horror movie that has turned into a cult classic. It came out in 1979 and introduced the "Tall Man." In order to take over the world, the Tall Man used zombies and a weapon called the Sentinel Sphere. The Sentinel Sphere had two retractable blades that stuck to the victims head, a cranial drill that dug into the dome, and a micro pump that sucked out his brains. In this scene we see the Sentinel Sphere at work.

Speed - Decapitation

From the excellent action film SPEED, starring Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock, and Dennis Hopper. As Dennis and Keanu have their final confrontation atop a speeding subway train, Keanu forces Hopper's head upward as a subway signal flies by and.......well you know the rest.

Kill Bill vol. 1 - Decapitation!

As decapitation week continues I give you a scene from Kill Bill. O-Ren Ishii (played by Lucy Liu) takes offense to what someone says so she busts out the samurai sword for a little revenge. The blood squirting out his neck is the best part, Tarantino pays tribute to old Kung-fu, Japanese, and Wuxia films like Shogun Assasin and Lady Snowblood. Classic.

300 - Decapitation

It's Decapitation week, so I'm posting a new decapitation every day to celebrate. Leave your comments and tell us your favorite movie decap that we missed. Today's decapitation is from the film 300. There are two decaps in that movie, both worthy of mention.

Final Destination - Billy gets Decapitated

Today's Decap come at the hands of death himself. A piece of metal shrapnel is propelled up from a speeding train and cuts the top part of Billy's jaw off. His head rolls away while the body is still standing. After the train passes, the body drops in glorious fashion. The Final Destination movies have been so popular that it also spawned a series of related novels, the Final Destination books. Recently, Zenescope Entertainment has begun producing a series of Final Destination comic books mini-series called Final Destination: Death Never Takes a Vacation, featuring a trip to Cancun gone wrong. Another Final Destination movie?

DECAPITATIONS

Leave comments or requests for your favorite movie death decapitation.

Decapitations
Speed - Great movie death, bad one-liner
The Omen - Hollywood's first Decapitation
Final Destination - Billy gets Decapitated
Kill Bill - Decapitation
300 - Decap!
Demolition Man - Heads Up!
Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones - The Demise of Jango Fett

The Omen - Hollywood's First Decapitation!

Everyone loves them, the blood squirting out the neck, the head rolling on the ground. The decapitation is the most basic yet most satisfying movie death. If done incorrectly, the decapitation looks unrealistic and almost comedic. If done right, it will leave the audience gasping in shock. I start with the one that started it all, one of the first decapitations in mainstream Hollywood. In this scene from the original Omen, a pane of glass on the back of a truck shoots out towards the reporter and slices his head clean off. Nice!

Cube Zero - Flesh Eating Bacteria

This movie death is from the film Cube Zero, which is a prequel to Cube and Cube 2: Hypercube. There are a lot of great deaths in those films(except Cube 2: Hypercube, which wasn't very good), but this one stands out the most. Our victim enters the cube and is sprayed with a flesh eating bacteria (wikipedia says it's a highly corrosive substance) and the fun begins. Enjoy.

Thir13en Ghosts - The Lawyer Splits

The best death scene from the film Thir13en Ghosts comes at the hand of a sliding glass door and a unsuspecting shyster lawyer. Great visual effects make this scene one of a kind. Automatic doors never work for me either.
