Transformers: The Movie - The Death of Optimus Prime
It doesn't bother me that something I loved as a child has become a popular bastardized version of itself. What bothers me is that the new generation will never fully understand what made Transformers so iconic and why the live action films will never come close to the greatness of G1. We all had our favorite heroes and villains that we grew to love, but how can we now when our favorite robots don't have personalities? The new films aren't even about the Transformers, they're about special effects. The Transformers don't resemble themselves, they're incredibly shallow and simple. And since when did humans get this much face time in any of the Transformers series? The Transformers bread and butter has always been the interaction between the Autobots and Decepticons, who gives a fuck about the American military in a Transformers movie? Thank goodness for the 1986 animated film Transformers: The Movie, sure it was a marketing ploy to push the toys, but it was a marketing ploy with emotion god dammit. We cared about Optimus and we hated Hot Rod for what he did, we had actual feelings towards the characters, now all we care about is Megan Fox and CGI explosions. Sad.

Let The Right One In - The Pool Scene
Sometimes the best horror is what your mind sees and not your eyes. The same goes for movie deaths, an off-screen death can be just as effective if not more than seeing it happen. Take this scene from Let The Right One In for example, little Oskar is a 12-year-old-boy who is constantly bullied at school. He befriends a mysterious child, Eli, who turns out to be a vampire. The moral of the story is...don't fuck with a vampire's best friend.

Platoon - Sgt. Elias death
After being wounded and left for dead by Staff Sergeant Barnes(Tom Berenger). Elias(Willem Dafoe) emerges from the jungle, running from a large group of NVA soldiers. Thinking that Sgt. Elias Grodin had already been killed in action, the platoon can only watch from the chopper as he is shot repeatedly by Viet Cong troops.
The famous scene depicting Elias with his hands in the air is a recreation of a 1968 photograph by Art Greenspon
Terminator 2 - Thumbs Up
I'm not usually for posting non-human death scenes, but this is one for the books. The Terminator sacrifices himself, asking Sarah to lower him into a vat of molten steel so that his technology cannot be used to create Skynet.

Rambo 3 - Rambo VS Kourov
There is rule that after every epic fight scene, there should be a great death scene. Well, if it isn't a rule, it should be. Take this scene from Rambo III for example, after an epic fight between Rambo and Russian soldier Kourov, Rambo wraps a rope around Kourov’s neck, pulls the pin on one of his grenades, and roundhouse kicks him down a hole.
